Social anxiety makes it difficult to form close, trusting relationships with other people, and to be at your best when you’re in the spotlight. It’s hard to be vulnerable with the people you care about when you’re worried about what they might think of you, or the ways you might disappoint them. It’s also hard to bring your best to your work when your mind is racing with all the mistakes you might make. Even when you know all the right things to tell yourself, you might feel too panicky to shake off the worry. You might find yourself avoiding situations that cause you anxiety, or you might get into them and feel frozen with fear. You also might find yourself hiding important things from others to avoid disappointing them.

Therapy is a safe space for you to bring your worries…

a place where you don’t have to fear judgment…

where it’s ok to make mistakes…

We give you a warm, accepting place to sort through your worries, heal and grow. We work with you to deal with the thoughts, judgments, and worries that come up. We help you develop skills to calm your body, to make moments of anxiety less intense. We work on ways to handle social situations to help you feel more confident. Together we plan intentional exposures to anxiety-provoking situations to gradually increase your tolerance for them. We also help you look at how past experiences shape your anxiety, what emotional needs are coming up when you are anxious, and what you can do to meet those needs.
